At CSMC, all of our doctors are required to be co-credentialed through chiropractic and medical academia. On the medical side, those credentials are from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Graduate Medical Education (ACCGME) in conjunction with the State University of New York at Buffalo, Jacobs School of Medicine, and Cleveland University Kansas City, Chiropractic Health Sciences.  

These credentials include the following post-graduate courses at a minimum:

  • Interprofessional Hospital Based Spine Care
  • Spinal Disc, Ligament and Neurology Pathology
  • Head Trauma/Brain Injury
  • Spinal Biomechanical Engineering
  • Spinal Trauma Pathology
  • Accident Reconstruction
  • Impairment Ratings
  • Medical-Legal Documentation
  • Expert Witness and Documentation
  • Stroke Diagnosis & Triage

 

 

Our doctors also complete 2 years of Fellowship Training in Spinal Biomechanics and Trauma and pass credentialling examinations to become Spine Management Physicians™.  A spine management physician™ is a specialist in the chiropractic profession that has completed post-doctoral didactic course work, research/case reviews, clinical presentations and Observational Rotations in Interventional Pain Management, MRI Physics, Neuroradiology, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine.  Spine Management Physicians™ use this working knowledge to Operate as a Patient Advocate and Case Manager for Mechanical Spine Pain and Traumatic Spine Injuries.  This advanced training prepares the doctor to:

 

  • Determine if Condition is Emergency or Non-Emergency
  • Determine if Condition is Surgical or Non-Surgical
  • Communicate and Coordinate Care Between Specialists
  • Assist in Surgery Prevention (When Appropriate)
  • Assist in Post Surgical Rehab (After Surgeon Approval)
  • Apply Safe and Effective Chiropractic Treatment (When Appropriate)
    • Technique Based on Patient’s Condition Severity, Build and Preference
  • Act as an Expert Witness on Behalf of Patient in Court (If Applicable)

 

To maintain this credential, Doctors must pass a recredentialling exam every 3 years to ensure they are up to date on the latest medical research.

 

CSMC is in most networks and accepts most major insurance companies with the exception of Medicaid.  For out of network services we offer strategic payment options to help reduce the financial burden of appropriate spine care.  For personal injury/car accident cases we work on a lien.
